Yumi Chung is a shy 7th grader who is a wannabe comedian, one day while she is walking she stumbles upon a comedy club where her idol is teaching a class to kids. The people there think that Yumi is another girl who was taking a class, but Yumi doesn't correct them. One lie snowballs into a full new identity. But what will Yumi do if the lies she tell unravel?

Hey guys! Long time no see (sorry about that) But today we are back with the book reviews. Today we are going to be talking about a book I recently read by Jessica Kim. I think it was really enjoyable for people of all ages. The writing style reminded me a lot of Front Desk (I have a review of that book too) so if you liked Front Desk you will probably like Stand Up, Yumi Chung.

Allie Navarro can't wait to show her best friends the app she built at CodeGirls summer camp. Click'd pairs users based on common interests and sends them on a fun (and occasionally rule-breaking) scavenger hunt to find each other. And it's a hit. By the second day of school, everyone is talking about Click'd. Watching her app go viral is amazing. Leaderboards are filling up! Everyone's making new friends. And with all the data Allie is collecting, she has an even better shot at beating her archenemy, Nathan, at the upcoming youth coding competition. But when Allie discovers a glitch that threatens to expose everyone's secrets, she has to figure out how to make things right, even if that means sharing the computer lab with Nathan. Can Allie fix her app, stop it from doing any more damage, and win back the friends it hurt-all before she steps on stage to present Click'd to the judges? New York Times best-selling author Tamara Ireland Stone combines friendship, coding, and lots of popcorn in her fun and empowering middle-grade debut.

My Thoughts: Click’d is a very fun book that can get anyone out of a reading slump. The plot is so entertaining and funny. How Allie perseveres is truly inspiring. Tamara Ireland Stone shaped the story and added the code in such an amazing way. Anyone of any age could find joy in this book.

A breathtaking, enchanting new series by debut author Jessica Townsend, about a cursed girl who escapes death and finds herself in a magical world--but is then tested beyond her wildest imagination Morrigan Crow is cursed. Having been born on Eventide, the unluckiest day for any child to be born, she's blamed for all local misfortunes, from hailstorms to heart attacks--and, worst of all, the curse means that Morrigan is doomed to die at midnight on her eleventh birthday. But as Morrigan awaits her fate, a strange and remarkable man named Jupiter North appears. Chased by black-smoke hounds and shadowy hunters on horseback, he whisks her away into the safety of a secret, magical city called Nevermoor. It's then that Morrigan discovers Jupiter has chosen her to contend for a place in the city's most prestigious organization: the Wundrous Society. In order to join, she must compete in four difficult and dangerous trials against hundreds of other children, each boasting an extraordinary talent that sets them apart--an extraordinary talent that Morrigan insists she does not have. To stay in the safety of Nevermoor for good, Morrigan will need to find a way to pass the tests--or she'll have to leave the city to confront her deadly fate. Perfect for fans of the Harry Potter series and Neil Gaiman, this fast-paced plot and imaginative world has a fresh new take on magic that will appeal to a new generation of readers.

My thoughts: Nevermoor the trials of Morrigan Crow is an excellent book. It had me on the edge of my seat seeing if Morrigan would make it through the trials. The world building and character development in this book was incredible and anyone who liked the Harry Potter series will find entertainment within this novel. There are amazing characters and an intricate plot. You will be laughing and worrying along with the characters.
